Alumni volunteer at university event

Create positive change

Volunteer your time to support students, fellow alumni and the world

As a graduate, you're uniquely placed to work with the University to make a difference in your community and in the world. You can also change the lives of students and help new graduates launch their careers.

You can contribute to the continued success of this great University, helping to build positive reputation by speaking about your experience and where it has taken you. It's as easy as sharing your knowledge, experience, insight and time.

What's in it for you?

Alumni Ambassador Programme

If you graduated within the last 3 years, you can join the Alumni Ambassador Programme. Alumni Ambassadors actively support student recruitment by inspiring future students to choose Portsmouth. If you're keen to talk about your great experience at Portsmouth and where it is taking you, this is the volunteering role for you.

As an Alumni Ambassador, you'll volunteer at 2 events during the academic year, such as Open Days and Applicant Experience Days.

This is a great way to:

  • Add volunteering hours to your CV
  • Stay in touch with fellow alumni, guides and staff at the University
  • Revisit the city with your travel expenses paid (when travel restrictions are lifted)

Global Alumni Ambassadors

Global Alumni Ambassadors are important members of the Portsmouth community – the face of the University around the world. Working closely with the Global Office, Global Alumni Ambassadors play a vital role at recruitment events, providing valued advice about living and studying abroad while talking about what makes Portsmouth special.
