Portsmouth Business School
Portsmouth Business School produces graduates with the expertise and entrepreneurial spirit to make lasting positive impacts on local and global economies, societies and the lives of individuals.
The School is home to our internationally-recognised research, which is helping entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), governments and big business to find solutions to the challenges they face. Our commitment to small business is evidenced by our Small Business Charter Award. In 2018 alone, we worked with more than 300 small businesses on bespoke projects.
Our research is reflected in our teaching which is delivered by academic experts who have a great deal of professional and research experience. We nurture future leaders in business and management through an emphasis on experiential and active learning.
We also collaborate with local and international businesses and other organisations to give students access to placements, projects and degree apprenticeships.

BQF Gold
As gold members of the British Quality Foundation (BQF) we can offer excellent networking opportunities.
Teaching
We have a reputation for exceptional teaching. Students participate in career-enhancing activities through live-client projects, volunteering roles, work experience (both in the UK and overseas), networking with experts and alumni, and employability workshops. Our students gain business experience through our excellent links with regional small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Final year students work in teams on a Business Consultancy Project, through which they solve genuine business problems, using the knowledge and skills they acquire during their studies.
Our students looking to set up their own companies can take part in the Entrepreneurs in Residence Programme, the Accelerating Women's Enterprise project, the NEST business start-up space, and Innovation Connect.
Much of our teaching makes uses of new digital technologies, including video and online materials, which allow our students to work flexibly. We also have new Rapid MOOC technology that allows faculty staff to create educational videos and presentations using a green screen.
We also offer apprenticeship degrees – including our MBA in Strategic Leadership – which allow our students to work while they study.
