I have several years of experience as a consultant and researcher in change and social impact for both private and voluntary sectors. I got my academic training at Henley Business School (PhD), the LSE (MSc in Anthropology and Development) and Sharif University of Technology (MBA). This multidisciplinary background informs my academic role and shapes my research interests. My research examines practices that encourage building organizations that are resilient, inclusive and socially responsible. I work with industry leaders, particularly civil society organizations, to harness the power of storytelling and memorialisation practices to make a positive social impact.
My research has been published in internationally leading journals, such as Organization Studies and Leadership. I review for journals, such as Organization Studies, Strategic Organization, Organization and Journal of Business Ethics. I will join the editorial board of the journal, organization studies, as a book review editor from September 2021.

I am an expert in organizational narrative, storytelling and remembering. My current research covers themes, such as i) Organizational change and politics of inclusion/exclusion. ii) Leadership in voluntary organizations, iii) The role of memorialisation in claim-making processes iv))Decolonising knowledge and building inclusive organizations in INGOs.
Beyond this, I am broadly interested in empirical research using ethnographic methods or discourse analysis techniques and theories, such as storytelling, rhetoric and psychoanalytic analysis. My published research develops ground-breaking theories on organizational remembrance and forgetting (see a perspectives article I published on ten years of research on collective memory in Organization Studies). I welcome PhD students and research collaborations that look to extend the application and theory of collective memory in any area of management (e.g. organizational transitions, social movement, organizational learning, responsible business and inclusivity).
I particularly welcome partnership with the voluntary sector and have worked and continue to work with industry leaders in this sector to build collaborative project to make a positive social impact (see the themes of my ongoing projects above).
